Reelo, a startup based in Ahmedabad, has secured USD 1 million in funding from sole investor Gokul Rajaram, who has previously supported companies like Faire, Figma and Airtable. The company plans to use the funds to expand its team, grow globally and enhance its AI and machine learning capabilities.

Founded in 2021 by siblings Prit and Parin Sanghvi, Reelo offers marketing tools for small and mid-sized businesses. The platform integrates with point-of-sale (PoS) billing software to collect customer data, automate marketing strategies and introduce loyalty programs. Reelo has partnered with various PoS billing software providers like Petpooja, DotPe, TMBill and Posist Technologies.

According to CEO Parin Sanghvi, the focus on customer retention and loyalty in the US inspired the creation of Reelo in response to unsustainable flashy discount apps in India. In addition to loyalty programs, Reelo offers customer acquisition solutions such as referral programs and smart QR codes. The company has notable clients in the food and beverage sector like Jumbo King, Jamie’s Italian and Punjab Grill.

Operating in nine countries across the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, Reelo is now aiming to enter the US market. The startup claims that it is currently serving over 17,000 businesses and over 16 million customers, offering a freemium model with yearly and quarterly subscriptions.

With the new funding, Reelo plans to recruit senior professionals for key positions and continue its mission of serving businesses globally. Some notable players in the customer loyalty and engagement space include Thanx and TapMango.
