KKR To Invest $400 Mn In Malaysian OMS Group

According to a joint statement, U.S. private equity firm KKR has signed an agreement to invest USD 400 million in Malaysian subsea telecommunications cable services provider OMS Group on Monday.

The details of the deal have not been disclosed yet. According to Reuters, KKR has invested in Southeast Asia’s digital infrastructure before, including Singapore Telecommunications’ data center and Philippines-based digital infrastructure company Pinnacle Towers. KKR’s investment will be used to help OMS grow by expanding its fleet size and capabilities, as well as investing in cable landing stations and subsea cable routes.
