Hyderabad-based Autocracy Machinery (Autocracy), a manufacturer of trenching, turf and construction machinery, has raised USD 1.2 million in seed funding led by Venture Catalysts. Marquee investors, including Nikhil & Bharat Jaisinghani (Executive Directors, Polycab India Limited) and Meghna Agarwal (CEO, IndiQube), joined the round.
Founded in 2020 by IITian Santhoshi Buddhiraju and serial entrepreneur Laxman Vallakati, Autocracy offers cutting-edge machinery for sectors such as agriculture, telecommunications, landscaping, and infrastructure development. The company’s efficient solutions aim to replace costly imports and contribute to India’s “Make in India” initiative.
The funding will support Autocracy’s expansion, R&D efforts, and the development of a modern industrial unit. The company has experienced significant revenue growth, with plans to reach Rs 60 crore by 2025.
Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder at Venture Catalysts, emphasized the growth potential in India’s construction equipment industry, driven by government infrastructure initiatives and increased investments. Autocracy’s mission aligns with the “Make in India” vision, reducing the country’s reliance on costly imported machinery.
