Kuku FM Raises $25 Mn From IFC, Fundamentum

Kuku FM, an audio platform backed by Google on Wednesday raised a USD 25 million in funding. This funding round was led by Nandan Nilekani’s Fundamentum Partnership and IFC.

Vertex Ventures also participated in the funding, it last closed its funding with USD 541 million last week. Kuku FM is planning to invest in developing the depth of its content and technology.

Kuku FM, with over 2.5 million paid subscribers, is already a leading player in the Indian audio content market. With this fresh injection of funds, the company is poised for expansion, aiming to further solidify its position in the industry.

Kuku FM last raised USD 21.9 million in September 2022, which was also led by Fandamentum.

Founded by Lal Chand Bisu, Vikas Goyal and Vinod Kumar Meena, Kuku FM has a good consumer base with 150,000 hours of content.
