Early-stage venture capital firm Kae Capital on Thursday said it has secured about Rs 410 crore (about USD 50 million) for the close of its Winners Fund II.
Venture capital firms raise separate funds to invest in startups they already support. This firm plans to invest in 20 companies through its fund. Notable investors in this fund include Velo Partners, Henry Kravis (cofounder of KKR), Prashant Tandon (Tata 1MG cofounder and CEO), Abhay Soi (Max Healthcare founder), and Hemendra Kothari (DSP group founder).
Kae Capital recently closed a Fund-III of Rs 767 crore, attracting investors from different countries. Some of the companies they have invested in include HealthKart, BrightChamps, Wysa, and Disprz. Kae Capital has invested in a total of 81 startups with a combined valuation of USD 8.76 billion..
Kae Capital’s Winners Fund II invests in early-stage companies, providing funding between USD 1 million and USD 3 million. Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys and a supporter of Kae Capital, recently spoke about the importance of domestic capital and urged family businesses to invest in Indian startups at the Global Fintech Festival 2023.
