Draper Associates, Y Combinator, and Bayhouse Capital led a seed round of $8.3 million for Bengaluru-based proptech startup Landeed. The funds will be used to bring in new talent and strengthen the company’s technological infrastructure.
Landeed, founded in 2022 by Sanjay Mandava, ZJ Lin, and Jonathan Richards, allows users to search property titles and receive land documents for a small fee. Landeed reported that within four months of its launch, it had received 1.7 million searches for land titles across the seven states in which it operates.
Landeed provides multiple data points on a single screen, including guideline values and an Encumbrance Certificate—a document that shows that the property in question is free of any monetary or legal disputes, among other things.
Landeed had raised a pre-seed round six months earlier from Justin Hamilton (CEO, Clutterbot), Goodwater Capital, Olive Tree, Manmohan Chandolu, Chris Maurice (Yellow Card), Christian Kaczmarczyk (Third Prime VC), AVCF Fund, and nine Y Combinator alumni.
