Mt K Kapital, a real estate-focused fund management company, has raised Rs 350 crore (approximately $44 million) from anchor investors SBI, Famy Care, Rustomjee, and other unnamed high-net-worth individuals.

According to a statement, the fund raised capital in the Mt K Resi Development Fund (Category II SEBI registered Alternative Investment Fund).

Over half of the funds raised have been committed to three identified redevelopment projects in the Mumbai metro region. Two are in Bandra and one is in Andheri.

The fund intends to invest in 8-10 redevelopment projects in the Mumbai Metro region, with Rustomjee Group serving as the development partner.

Mt K Resi Development Fund is an ESG Impact Development Fund managed by Mt K Kapital that allows investors to participate in the equity returns of real estate projects.

The Rustomjee Group has a development portfolio of 20 million square feet of finished projects, 9.2 million square feet of current development, and 16.4 million square feet of planned development in the Mumbai metropolitan region.

Following the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the real estate market has seen a surge of activity.
