Peepul Tree, a Bengaluru-based live commerce platform, announced on Wednesday that it has received $6 million (approximately Rs 49 crore) in seed funding from venture capital firm Elevar Equity.
The additional funds will be used for product marketing, onboarding content creators, and expanding the tech portfolio. Peepul Tree, founded last year by Anish Williams, Mini Menon, and Priya Jayaraman, works with local artisans and content creators by aggregating supply through a cluster-based approach and managing the supply chain and logistics to consumers through their tech platform. It currently has 24 artisan clusters from which it sources its products.
By the end of 2023, the company hopes to have 100,000 artisans and 500 crafts on its platform, as well as 1,000 content creators.
