Accacia, a real estate and infrastructure decarbonization platform run by Process Botics, raised $2.5 million (approximately Rs 20.5 crore) in a seed funding round led by Accel and B Capital on Tuesday.
According to a press release, other investors in the round included Blume Ventures, Good Capital, Zerodha’s Rainmatter Fund, Canada-based Loyal VC, and some angel investors.
Over the next year, the platform for real estate decarbonization will direct funds toward geographical expansion in Southeast Asia, West Asia, the United States, and Canada.
Accacia currently has offices in Gurugram and Bengaluru, with approximately 30-40 employees.
Accacia, an AI-based decarbonization platform founded in 2022 by INSEAD alumnus Talreja, Garg, and Piyush Chitkara, measures and benchmarks the environmental risks in its clients’ portfolios while suggesting decarbonization strategies at the asset and portfolio level.
According to the startup, its solution has been deployed in over 20 million square feet of institutional real estate across Asia.
Serentica Renewables, a decarbonization platform that seeks to enable energy transition by providing clean energy solutions, raised $400 million from global private equity giant KKR last month, among other fundraises for decarbonization-enabling platforms.
