In a master-franchise partnership with Treebo Hotels parent Ruptub Solutions, American multinational hospitality company Radisson Hotel Group has launched its new midscale brand, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, exclusively for India.

With this new brand, the group intends to more than double its Indian footprint to nearly 150 hotels and resorts by 2025. Treebo is backed by investors such as Matrix Partners India, Elevation Capital, and Ward Ferry Management, among others, and has nearly 1,000 properties in 120 cities.

According to the company, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson will initially focus on Kerala, Karnataka, and the northeast. The new hotels will have between 50 and 70 rooms, open social spaces, a welcome corner, and other standard amenities such as a fitness centre and WiFi.

Radisson Hotel Group operates brands such as Park Inn, Radisson Blu, Country Inn & Suites, and its flagship upscale brand Radisson in India. According to hospitality consultancy Hotelivate, it is the third largest hotel service provider in India, trailing only American chain Marriott Hotels and Indian Hotel. Carlson Rezidor, its parent company, rebranded itself as Radisson Hotel Group in 2018.

The brand will fuel its next phase of growth in tier 2, 3, 4, and 5 markets such as Shillong, Itanagar, Kohima, Gorakhpur, Dimapur, Moradabad, and Etawah, among others, according to Radisson. It anticipates that such cities will account for nearly half of all future hotel conversions. It stated that it has approximately 110 operational hotels and approximately 40 under development across 60 locations. It currently invests roughly half of its portfolio in tier 2 and 3 markets.
