Lotus Herbals has acquired a 20 per cent stake in nutraceutical products startup Yogic Secrets Healthcare, its third investment this year. Lotus Herbals paid an undisclosed sum for a stake in the Gurugram-based startup. Yogic Secrets plans to use the funds to expand its operations in India as well as in international markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
Dr. Anil Khandelwal founded Yogic Secrets in 2018 to sell nutraceuticals to manage lifestyle disorders and slow the progression of chronic diseases. In October, the company participated in the pre-series funding round of clean beauty marketplace Vanity Wagon.
Lotus Herbals paid an undisclosed sum in January for a 25 per cent stake in clean beauty direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand Conscious Chemist. In October 2021, the company acquired a 32 per cent strategic stake in Fixderma India, the owner of the Fixderma and FCL brands.
Lotus Herbals will acquire the luxury Ayurvedic brand SoulTree in September 2020. According to brokerage Motilal Oswal Financial Services, the domestic online beauty and personal care market will grow at a rate of 60 per cent per year between 2016 and 2025.
