Google Acquires Alter For USD 100 M


Google has acquired Alter, an artificial intelligence startup. According to media reports, the tech giant paid $100 million, which is approximately Rs 822 crore. Alter is a startup that uses artificial intelligence to create avatars for social media users and brands to express their virtual identities.

According to media reports, this would be part of increasing the content game and competing with the short-video platform TikTok. The acquisitions were completed two months ago, but none of the companies publicly announced it. Employees have also updated their Linkedin profiles to reflect their new position at Google.

Alter is a company based in the United States and the Czech Republic. Jon Slimak and Robin Raszka founded it. Google Chat now supports custom emojis for a more personalised experience.
