Anchored by the IIT Alumni Trust, IvyCap Ventures Advisors was founded by Vikram Gupta. A seasoned investor with 25 years of experience in diverse business settings, Vikram worked in Private Equity, Business Consulting, M&A, Strategy and Operations in Healthcare and Life Sciences, Education as well as Consumer Goods. He set up India’s first ever Venture Capital Fund for Healthcare and Life Sciences, sponsored by Ajay Piramal in 2008. Vikram raised the USD 100 Mn fund at a time when the global markets were weltering through a mayhem. Gupta is an IIT Delhi alumni and holds an MBA in strategy and finance from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. He led the Clinical Genomics practice for IBM’s Healthcare and Life Sciences pillar in the US.

Founded in 2011, IvyCap has rapidly expanded to now a USD 530 Mn fund. The company’s portfolio comprises market leaders across sectors including healthtech, edtech, fintech, consumer-tech. Some of the paramount firms IvyCap has invested in include Purplle, Clovia and Biryani By Kilo. In 2019, IvyCap assisted in developing the structure and initial corpus for India’s first endowment fund at IIT Delhi with USD 1 Bn, which was inaugurated by the Hon. President of India.

Gupta is the Co-Chairman of PEVCAI (Private Equity and Venture Capital) at ASSOCHAM and is an active member of IVCA (Indian Venture Capital Association) and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). He received the Distinguished Alumnus Service Award from IIT Delhi in the year 2020.
